Optimize operation and unlock the filter’s full potential
To ensure the highest operational reliability and a stable, documented treatment performance, all BioMax and BM models can be expanded with specialized optional equipment. These options are developed for installations where airflow rates, load profiles, and environmental conditions vary—and where optimal performance, long service life, and precise monitoring are required.
A key element of this extended functionality is the dehumidifier, which creates optimal operating conditions in humid environments and significantly improves both filter efficiency and service life. In addition, the filters can be equipped with sensors, fans, humidification systems, and customer-specific configurations, allowing the solution to be precisely tailored to the individual installation.
Together, these options make it possible to create a more controlled, energy-efficient, and robust filtration process that performs optimally—even under demanding conditions and in complex systems.
Optimize your solution
Stable operation in humid environments
High humidity reduces filter efficiency, increases pressure drop, and shortens the service life of both carbon and hybrid filters. The dehumidifier is developed for installations with high moisture loads and where stable, predictable operating conditions are required.
The dehumidifier operates using a controlled heat exchange principle, where the air is cooled and moisture is condensed before it reaches the filtration unit. The result is a drier, more stable airflow that creates optimal conditions for both the biological process and chemical adsorption within the filters.
Benefits of dehumidification
-
Extends filter service life
-
Ensures stable and predictable treatment efficiency
-
Reduces the risk of condensation and deposits
-
Prevents saturation of activated carbon
-
Improves operating economy
-
Can be integrated into both new and existing installations
The dehumidifier is always dimensioned according to airflow, temperature, and relative humidity (RH) levels, and can be installed as a standalone unit or in series with multiple units for high air volumes.
Flowstyring til præcis og stabil filtrering
- Specially dimensioned fans tailored to the plant’s airflow requirements
- Option for frequency converters to optimize airflow, noise levels, and energy consumption
- Ensure stable airflow regardless of variations in load and back pressure
Mechanical ventilation is particularly recommended for installations where passive draft is insufficient or where constant operating conditions are required.
Precise humidification – stable performance
For installations where biological activity requires a stable moisture balance, a humidification system can be added.
Purpose:
-
Build up and maintain optimal moisture levels in the filter mats
-
Ensure active microbiology at low relative humidity (RH) levels
-
Minimize drying and loss of biological capacity
Humidification is typically used in dry installations, process plants with warm air, or in systems with long air transport distances where the moisture gradient decreases.
Intelligent air quality monitoring
- H₂S sensors for continuous measurement and alarm
- NH₃ and VOC sensors for installations with mixed gas compositions
- Temperature and humidity sensors for optimal control of biological activity
The sensors can be installed as standalone measuring points or integrated into a complete monitoring system that provides documentation for authorities and operations teams.
Adjust filter capacity to your requirements
- Option to add extra hybrid mats (e.g. BM-300 with additional layers)
- Customer-specific configurations for changing H₂S or NH₃ levels
- Filter composition optimized for temperature, humidity, and airflow
This makes it possible to tailor the treatment efficiency precisely to the actual operating requirements.
