Solutions for air treatment

Solutions and services

By combining activated carbon and biological treatment in a single, integrated system, hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), ammonia, and other odorous gases are effectively reduced from ventilation and exhaust air systems.
The technology is developed for water, wastewater, and biogas facilities, where high humidity and fluctuating loads place strong demands on robust and reliable solutions.

The hybrid filters’ modular design, long service life, and minimal maintenance provide reliable and verifiable odor control—while simultaneously contributing to a better and healthier working environment for operating personnel.

Hybrid filters for effective neutralization and reduction of odor nuisances

– for industry, water and wastewater, as well as biogas plants

Hybrid filter – advanced odor control with biological and chemical treatment

Activated carbon has long been an effective method for odor control in wastewater systems, biogas plants, and industrial installations. It is particularly well suited for binding hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) and other odor-causing gases—but it is challenged in humid environments, where the pores of the carbon can become clogged and efficiency declines.

The hybrid filter combines activated carbon and biological treatment in a single system and effectively removes hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), ammonia, and other odorous gases—even in humid environments.

This hybrid technology utilizes both chemical adsorption and biological degradation, resulting in long service life, low maintenance requirements, improved working conditions, and high operational reliability.

Hybrid filter – documented performance in all operating environments

The hybrid filter series ranges from compact units to modular systems with capacities from 5 m³/h up to 5,000 m³/h.
The filters combine activated carbon and biologically inoculated filter mats, effectively removing hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), ammonia, and acidic gases.

The multilayer design—with gas distribution, ammonia, and hybrid layers—ensures optimal airflow distribution, high removal efficiency, and stable operation, even under high humidity and fluctuating load conditions.

The housings are manufactured from HD-PE or PE plastic, offering chemical resistance, corrosion-free operation, and full recyclability.
Systems are available as passive solutions with no power consumption or with integrated monitoring and sensors, depending on installation requirements.

The hybrid filter delivers documented long service life, low maintenance requirements, and consistently stable filtration performance—whether used in pump stations, wastewater treatment plants, or biogas facilities.

The BioMax series – scalable hybrid filters for effective odor control

The BioMax series, commonly referred to as the BM series, consists of a range of hybrid filters developed for the efficient removal of hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), ammonia, and other odorous gases in wastewater and biogas facilities.
The series ranges from the BioMax100, with capacities of up to 100 m³/h, to the BioMax5000, capable of handling airflow rates of up to 5,000 m³/h.

The biologically active filter mats ensure stable operation in humid environments, while the systems can be supplied either as passive units (no power required) or with Standard A/B monitoring and remote control for full operational documentation.

The BioMax series delivers documented high removal efficiency, long service life, and low maintenance requirements—providing utilities and industry with a flexible solution for modern odor control.
