Plastic as a Resource – with a Focus on Recycling
We develop and manufacture plastic solutions for, among other things, critical infrastructure and industry. Therefore, we have a strong focus on material consumption, recycling, and reducing our climate footprint both in our own operations and across the value chain.
ESG
Environment (E)
Our environmental strategy is based on concrete data from our carbon accounting and a goal of continuously reducing our climate footprint. We have set reduction targets towards 2035 for Scope 1, 2, and 3, with 2024 as the baseline year. As the majority of our emissions stem from purchased plastic materials, we work both on optimizing our own operations and on engaging in dialogue with customers and suppliers about material choices.
In addition, we offer refurbishment solutions that can extend the lifetime of existing structures, thereby reducing the need for new installations or new production.
Social (S)
Our social strategy focuses on safety, well-being, and skills development. We aim to be a stable and responsible workplace with well-organized conditions and clear frameworks for the working environment and employee development.
We have a target of zero workplace accidents each year and aim to continuously have at least one apprentice employed in the company.
Governance (G)
Our governance strategy focuses on transparency, responsible decision-making, and ethical business conduct. We work to strengthen our internal frameworks and ensure that ESG initiatives are anchored in both management and the wider organization.
In 2026, we will develop and implement a Business Code of Conduct and ensure that all employees are familiar with the company’s ethical guidelines.
Climate Partner – Esbjerg Municipality
Esbjerg Municipality has set an ambitious goal: to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. This is a major task that requires action—and collaboration. Therefore, the municipality is reaching out to local companies to achieve this goal together.
At Dansk Plast, we are proud to be part of Esbjerg Municipality’s climate partnership. We look forward to working together with the municipality and the other climate partners, where we can jointly contribute to a more sustainable future for our local community.
We take this responsibility seriously and have already initiated several concrete measures:
🔋 Transition to electric vehicles – We are gradually converting our company cars to electric vehicles to reduce CO₂ emissions.
♻️ More recycling – We encourage our customers to increase the use of recycled plastic in our products to reduce environmental impact.
📊 ESG reporting – We prepare annual ESG reports to ensure transparency and document our progress.
We look forward to contributing to the green transition—locally rooted, with a global perspective. 🌍
Plastic as a Resource
Plastic is our primary raw material, and we therefore place particular emphasis on responsible material use and efficient resource utilization. Our approach to the circular economy includes extending the service life of existing facilities where it is technically and operationally feasible.
We offer refurbishment solutions in which existing structures—such as older concrete tanks—are lined with solid plastic sheets. This solution creates a new, tight, and corrosion-resistant internal surface that can significantly extend the functional service life of the structure. By renovating rather than constructing new facilities, the need for new materials, demolition, and disposal of existing structures is reduced.
This approach makes it possible to preserve existing infrastructure while maintaining functionality and operational reliability.
Plastic Waste and Recycling
All plastic waste from production is sorted into fractions (PP, PE, etc.).
-
Plastic waste is sorted and sent for recycling where possible.
-
Cardboard is compacted and sent for recycling.
-
Non-recyclable plastic and small combustible waste are sent for incineration.
-
We did not generate hazardous waste in 2025.
-
We continuously work to reduce waste and increase the share of waste that can be recycled.
In addition, we advise customers on the use of recycled PP and PE where it is technically feasible, as material choices influence the climate footprint across the value chain.
